Health Care Access Now was part of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health’s March 24 kickoff event for national Minority Health Month. CEO Judith Warren brought a display featuring HCAN programs and services and shared information with attendees.
The Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality has just released its first official report and recommendations. Health Care Access Now joins Senator Shannon Jones and the Commission in this important work. Ohio ranks 45th in the nation in infant mortality and nearly last for African American babies. We’re committed to working together to reduce these numbers. The Ohio Senate has made some bill amendments to improve pregnancies for at-risk women. The Hannah report discusses detailed information including the following, "Sen. Jones said the amendment makes a number of improvements including clarifications on reimbursements to support other initiatives targeting infant mortality and standards hubs must meet.
